Lack of Originality in the Bronx

Yankee fans feeling backed into a corner think that "see you in October" or "1918" is the end all to every argument.  Yeah it's only April I agree, but your team looks like dog crap.  Can't you at least make up some excuses other than make historical references.

We are going to make you all look foolish this season Mark my words and your stupid

unoriginal chants will be the only defense have

And we do it again

Another weekend showdown, another media frenzy, another A-rod strikeout, another glimpse of Damon's Ugly Haircut, another chance for Sox fans to say "this is the year"....yada yada yada.....

Schill "acked", The "Big Schill" lets up a Grand Slam in 8th

Sox Lose 7-3

Red Sox Lose a heartbreaker in the 8th, Schilling lets up a Slammer, Stayed in the game a few batters too many.  With our bullpen stopping anything that comes to the plate I question why Shill wasn't taken out a few batter earlier.  Didn't we learn something from Grady Little?

Bullpen Perfect but still not utilized? I just don't get it.  To me that is just a sloppy or timid coaching decision. This is a game we should have won!!!!!

I beg of you Francona step up to the plate and take charge of this pitching staff, this town will not take another Grady Like "Brain Fart".

USE THE PEN, USE THE PEN!!!

Weekend Showdown!

Bronx Bombers in Town for a 4 Game Series.

I have access to New York's "YES" channel, the station that carries all the Yankees games.   I thought there was a game on last night so I turned it on to see what the score was, of course hoping to see the Yankees down by 1000 runs in the 9th.  To my horrific dismay they were airing the game 7 series of last years ALCS.   Like all of you I have tried to suppress this memory deep into the vault.  I only kept it on for about 4 seconds changing it when I realized what I was watching but it was the worst 4 seconds I have had to endure since we were Boonefied last year in the 11th.  It made me absolutely sick to my stomach,  I can't describe the feeling and I hope that none of you have to relive this experience again.  That game is something that we are all going to have to deal with for the rest of our lives, just like game 6 of the 86' WS.   The only thing we can do is take something back from them this year to make it easier to cope with this pain.  With this said I am ready and eager to get this show on the road and kick some Yankee behind.  The saga continues tonight when "All things Evil", "The MFY's", "The Evil Empire", "Bronx Bombers, or whatever name we must refer to them as, comes to town.

GUNS ARE A BLAZING AND WE ARE READY!

"The Iddler Speaks His Mind" and you better listen!

So I am getting my haircut today and as I am waiting patiently for my turn to get scalped some Pedro sucks gibberish starts floating around in the shop.  I almost found myself getting involved in the conversation but quickly realized that these simpletons don’t know anything besides cutting peoples hair shorter than they ask for it.  I kept quiet as painful as it was.  So what is the deal with Pedro?  Nothing.  Pedro is fine.  Every April we hear the same bulls##.  Like I said in one of my message board posts; Pedro may not be the God he once was but he is still one of the best in the league.  He rarely starts the season hot. full article

"Born With A Burden"

Being a lifelong Red Sox Fan is the toughest racket in all of sports.  Although it may seem like a cult or a religion it is more of a condition that we cannot shake. It is a burden that we must live with for the rest of our lives.  Like an illness or chronic disease, we didn't choose to have it rule our days.  Often we try to pretend that we don't have this condition and try to go about our everyday lives as normal people but to do this you would have to live your life in a bubble or relocate.  It is everywhere everyday, in November, December, January to March and of course April to September (sometimes October) .  There are just too many mediums in Boston that make this condition possible to shake.   Even when our other sports teams win championships our condition is still not cured, just temporarily sedated.

Some say that we enjoy the attention or relish that others envy our passion, this may be true to a certain level. Similar to having a flu or cold, people feel bad and give you the attention you need to get through the tough time.  In our case 85 years of tough times.

When the curse is lifted this year it will be interesting to feel what life will be like without this burden we were all born with.  It will be a huge weight lifted off our shoulders.  Our conditions will be washed away and we will be able to live our lives as normal human beings, not burdened by the curse that has made the people of Red Sox Nation so special.

I think when we win the world series this year we will all have to take long walks and ponder over how great it feels to be #1 for once in our lives.  - The Angle

The second coming!

Ortiz Rises On Easter Sunday.

Hits HR in bottom of 12th.

Red Sox Win 4-2

Manny Ramirez "I told David before he went to home plate, finish this we don't get paid overtime and he did it.''

Sat. 4/10 Pedro V.S. Halladay

Pedro pitches a Gem, Red Sox put up 3 HR's....

Men's bathroom stalls at Fenway, nice and clean!

I was sitting on the third base line in the No-Alcohol Section,  I of course was sneaking beers up tucked into a bag of peanuts that I had finished,  I had 5 Beers @ 5.50 a piece ($22).  Thus I had to pee quite frequently.

I noticed that the men's rooms at Fenway were quite accommodating, very clean an presentable.  There were a few people in the stalls smoking cigarettes but other than that it was a decent experience.   If I had to do a number 2 it wouldn't have been too bad.   Just an observation:)

4/7Lowe and Behold

Sox put up Lucky #7 runs in the second inning, Derek Lowe continues to get the run support he needs.

Damon starts season 0-9 goes 5-5 and makes a spectacular play in center to snatch a home run over the wall.

Box Score

Derek Lowe Tidbits

Derek had a 2.56 ERA IN 2000 while posting 42 Saves.
Derek has 2 hits in 24 career post-season at bats.
His salary is 3.625 Million this season.

He is a free-agent at the end of the year.

Shill is "King of the Hill" in Baltimore

Millar hits a dinger, Manny's hamstring acting up again- extent unknown.

RED SOX WIN 4-1

Schill welcome to "The Big Chill"

"I have never seen -- and I'm not stereotyping everybody in Boston, there's a lot of good writers, there's good people in the media just like any other market -- but I have never seen more people out to create stories on their own in one space in my career, and that's just in this brief time. ... " he said.

"They think we're stupid, and they don't think we see and pay attention. I've never seen so many anonymous quotes from people in a shorter period of time than I have in the last three days."-- Espn article

A Cold Day in BaltimoreSox Drop Opener 7-2

Sox show lack of discipline on the field.

Pedro hits Segui on wild pitch, lets up two runs in second then settles down, too little too late.

...six innings, seven hits, two earned runs (not a bad outing on paper)

Sox strand 14 runners on base.

Pokey a gem in the field, a slouch at the plate.

Mueller, Bellhorn, Ramirez bats highlights of the game.... as well as Johnny Damon's awful haircut & beard.
