Sox Management flew to Florida
yesterday to get answers from Pedro.
Question: Pedro, are you in or out?
Pedro-. We can appreciate that you are testing the market to see what level of interest there is for your services. It's nice to feel wanted once in awhile we will give you that. In fact I often cuddle with my ALF stuffed animal because he seems to reciprocate unconditional love for me. However, just as I cuddle with ALF this can only go on for so long before it gets a bit awkward. The time frame for decision making is tight and just as the Sox put a nice offer on the table for you it can disappear just as fast as my Mom's homemade stuffing come this Thursday. Theo and crew got on a plane to work this out and keep you a Red Sox. Kelly Bundy's date on an episode of "Married with Children" said it best: "Put out or get out"!
Spotlight will shift to Pavano if Pedro still wants to dance .

Pedro not clear as to who his "Daddy" is
New York, Boston?
Meeting with Steinbrenner went well "He told George how much he wanted to be a Yankee,"- Baseball Official with Knowledge of the talk
No Joke, Pedro Runs to Daddy- NY Daily News
"The Red Sox have set the market for Pedro, a fairly aggressive offer of $12.75 Million per year for two years (third year club option). Martinez as great as he has been is now a pitcher that can only go 6-6.5 strong innings. If Martinez is sincere in his comments about wanting to retire a Red Sox then a Yankee offer will have to come in significantly higher then the offer the Sox have on the table, with most likely a third year guarantee. Basically New York would be overpaying another pitcher that is one 95 mph fastball from being sent out to pasture. I love Pedro but if Steinbrenner wants to open his wallet too wide again then go right ahead. We will use our dollars wisely by purchasing all those "Who's Your Daddy " t-shirts on clearance and change the logo from NY to Boston." - Ryan G, Bornintoit.com
"A Martinez departure wouldn't lead to mourning on Yawkey Way. Many in the organization have been fed up by his late arrivals, a frequent diva attitude, mood swings and his thin skin when it comes to dealing with criticism. Should he depart, the team would not have to worry about having the payroll flexibility to sign free agent Carl Pavano, who is schedule to visit tomorrow."- Jeff Horrigan, Herald Story Tuesday 11/16 AL MVP IS Vlad Guerroro

Boras is going to fight a battle with Red Sox Brass over
Varitek. Wants 5 year deal, No Trade Clause
Folks, this is chapter 1 in the "Contract Negotiation Handbook". When you negotiate a contract and the known terms of the other party are no "5 Year Deals" & no "no trade clause". Where would you start your negotiation? Of course, you would start with a 5 year deal and a no trade clause. As much as I don't like the ruse of Scott Boras this is elementary.
"Give a dog a whiff and he will come back for the whole bone"
As much as I love Varitek (In fact he is my favorite Red Sox ), I think the Sox need to hold strong on their positions. "Making an exception" will be a costly precedent for us.
Theo & Crew we have your back on this one. Hold the line as long as you can and if you have to retreat so be it. Don't let Boras create his own "rules", this is not his game. Wednesday 11/10

You should be working get off our site! Tuesday 11/2 Update: Damon Leads Race For President
by Tight Margin in Mass.
Damon 24% Kerry 22% Bush 18% Ortiz 17% Brady 16%
Weekend campaign by Brady/Vinatieri may have cost them today's election.
We Hired a very attractive, well endowed blonde that can read our teleprompter (all of football has done it so we figured why not) Here is what she has to say about the race:
"I think it is going to come down to the voters in the swings states like Florida & New Hampshire. Many voters this morning are still undecided so we may not know the outcome of this race for a few months until all vote boxes are stuffed . The consensus is that the soft spoken Johnny Damon has a slight lead over Mass. Senator John Kerry. However the campaign of Ortiz/Ramirez has come into this election with great momentum so don't be surprised to see a late run by that duo" -Hot blonde Sox did Shots of Jack Daniels Before World Series & ALCS Games
-Big Deal, It seemed to have worked!
